Lithium

Lithium is element number 3 in the periodic table with the symbol Li. It is a soft alkali metal with a silver-white color. Under standard conditions, it is the lightest metal and the least dense solid element. Lithium and its compounds have numerous commercial applications, including heat-resistant glass and ceramics, high strength-to-weight alloys used in aircraft. Lithium batteries are used extensively in portable electronic devices and portable tools.
